We are a responsible festival that is committed to preventing pollution, ensuring compliance with all environmental legislation and continually minimising its environmental impact as much as is reasonably practicable.
In addition, we have established an action plan of improvement and continued monitoring of our resources to ensure that we achieve our goals as set out in our environmental policy and that we continually reflect upon our commitments.
All our stakeholders, customers and partners are encouraged to work with us to achieve the following goals.
- Promote reusing. After the inaugural festival in July 2022 we aim to re-use at least 50% of materials for the next festival in 2023. This will rise to 80% by the time we run in the summer of 2025.
- Reduce waste. We will aim to reduce our material waste by 50% by the 2025 festival.
- Promote recycling. We will aim to recycle 40% of our waste in July 2022. This will rise to 90% by 2025.
- Promote sustainable energy production. We will aim to have 90% solar powered and 100% off grid stages for both lighting and sound by 2025.
- Continuous Monitoring. To ensure we monitor our impact on the environment and are aware of our use of resources we will continuously monitor our usage of natural resources such as energy and water. We aim to monitor this closely and by the 2025 festival have built up a baseline image of what our energy consumption looks like and then consider ways of reducing our use of resources.
